A young girl is used because it is stereotypical for girls to be weak, naive and an easy target. In the media, it is typical for girls to be presented as not being able to protect themselves, so in my sequence I plan to conform to these representations as I feel although when the audience watches the suspense sequence, they will understand the narrative more if they’re seeing things that they normally would see in a horror film.

Our other character is a human like creature that haunts the young girl in her journey through the woods and again when she arrives back home. This character is human like because it creates a more realistic sense of danger because the audience typically fear something more if it is likely to happen.
